Sale Item of the Week

Hi all! I have a new sale-item-of-the-week on Etsy and it's this totally cute Prayer Flag table runner. I don't know what it is about these fabrics, but I just love them. I've made a large luncheon cloth for my grandmother with it, and I've even made a table runner for myself using the fabrics. They're colorful and fun for spring or summer, without being too bright.

This runner is on sale this week for $25 with free shipping.

Have a great week!

Summer Pond

"Summer Pond" 8 by 10, Pastel Painting

I have been working the past 3 days on this little painting. When I first came across the photograph I said, "This is going to be fun," with all those variations of color and detail. And it was a lot of fun. I was unsure of how it was going to turn out, but I'm pretty happy with it. I've never spent so much time on a painting, and I've never painted something that's so "busy." But I loved painting the reflections in the water and all the different shades of green in the lily pads.

The size is 8 by 10, and it was done on pastelbord with pastel pencils.

Have a great day!

Summer Cherries

"Summer Cherries" 5 by 7, Pastel Painting

I completed "Summer Cherries" yesterday afternoon. I think this will be the first of many cherry paintings for me! I had such a wonderful time completing this painting. This painting was done on Ampersand Pastelbord, and was done with soft pastels, and pastel pencils. It can be purchased here.

Have a great Sunday!

Creativity Boot Camp Day 2 - Complete

"Fruit Picnic" 5 by 7, Pastel Painting

Fruit Picnic is complete! This is from Day 2 of Creativity Boot Camp. The word prompt was "picnic." I've never painted fruit before (I usually choose flowers) and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. So far I have painted 2 paintings that are very different for me - that is why I am loving Creativity Boot Camp! It's pushing me to try new things and I plan to continue challenging myself. If you are also participating in Boot Camp I would love to hear how it's going for you! And if you haven't heard of it, here is the link so you can get involved too - http://creativebootcamp.blogspot.com/

I really wish that I could "keep up" with the daily assignments, but because I'm a painter I just can't. This painting took me about 3 -3 1/2 hours to complete. That really isn't too bad, but sometimes they take longer (depending on the size). I'm just going to go at a comfortable pace for me because if I feel rushed to get something done, it won't turn out the way I want it to. So, if you're following my paintings for this camp, please have some patience :).

Spring and Summer Table Runners

I've gotten into a new routine - painting in the morning and quilting in the afternoon. It's kinda nice! Lately I've acquired some spring/summer fabrics and decided that I had to make table runners. These are so bright and fun - perfect for this time of year. Sometimes all you need to punch up a room is a little color! These "table runners" don't even have to go on a table. You could put them anywhere - on a bookcase, island, entertainment center, over a chair, or even on the wall!
Currently these are all for sale in my Etsy shop. I'm also going to be adding some original paintings and prints daily, so check back for them!
I hope you have a great weekend!
